BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!! OWNZ!!! OWNZ I TELL YOU!!!

Morana means "death" in Slavic, and was the goddess of winter and death in Slavic mythology.

1.) Lineart and shading.
2.)Base color, eye, mane and tail direction lines, background concept.
3.) Messed with just about everything, the snow is finalized now, as is most of the shading and background. Yay for doing freehand trees! It was actually kind of fun.
:new:4.) Started mane, almost finalized, need to flesh out. Tentatively thinking of keeping that closeup in there.

hours so far- 10

I'm really having a lot of fun with this piece. I've been pushing myself to replicate the layer styles by myself instead of letting them do all the nifty work for me.

Linear light has got to be one of the most obnoxious to replicate on your own. Perusing the different styles has been great for inspiration though. "oh! I should try to make it look like that!" makes for hours of frustration and -headdesk- -headdesk- -headdesk- :D /stabbed

I think I'm almost done. Need to flesh out the forelock.

The big close up probably isn't going to stay, I just wanted to show you the detail in the head. Right now, way to much of a distraction. I might make it really see-through. Who knows.

Thanks for all your support guys!!!

kudos to *Lleayhe for inspiration for the brownish hair. see here- [link] one of my favorite artists on DA! check her out!

Ooh I really like how this has turned out! I think you should go with the faded head. *nod* It would be a nice touch, in my opinion. If you could flip it horizantally, that might look interesting. Hard to tell without actually playin with it myself. :XD: But anywho. I really like the golden mane and tail. ^-^

Every song comes to an end, but is that any reason not to enjoy the music?

I love the color of the hair. It almost gives it a fiery touch. Looking good!

I may mess with the angle when I'm all done with it and make it follow the wind a tiny bit more, and it needs some more fleshing out.
^0^ I's so proud of the coloring right now. thanks!

I think the bright color makes it look more lively, which doesn't make the "floating" look odd at all. I look forward to seeing this done! It'll look so good.
