So this won't be so much of a Journal entry as it will be an explanation of my being here.

I think I've already mentioned twice that I'm a music major.
(clarinet and vocal performance/liberal arts)
I've dabbled in all sorts of art (except for digital media) my entire life.
I adore ceramics, and I've been doing pencil sketches since I was very little. The past five or so years I've really gotten into photography- or at least as much as I can without taking a class. I'm particularly fond of vain attempts at capturing sunsets/sunrises.

++If anyone sees something in my photos that they could use for stock, go right ahead -that's part of the reason I'm posting them- and I'm always willing to send an un-marked/bigger version. (please let me know if you do though. )

I'm a hardcore gardener as well- so plants turn up a lot as well. As do my cats. Mainly because they insist on it. As do Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Because they're my refuge.

As for my drawing style, I've always tried to find a happy medium between simple/stylized and realism. Sometimes I'll lean more towards one than the other, but it depends on my mood/how much time I have. Being a college student (music/nursing major besides -.-lll) time is a precious commodity.

There is a minute chance that some of my writing might turn up here, since that has always come easy for me and I HAVE had training in it.

**Now, bearing in mind that I haven't had as much training and practice as I would like- I would still GREATLY appreciate tips, comments, criticism, and reactions. There will be some works that I'll want more C&C for than others.

***AND, if any kind soul out there is willing to take a look at a few of my sketches -NAMELY the sketch I'm considering putting up as my avatar- and offer some suggestions for improvement before I post them PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I'll give you pixel cookies.
